THREE DAY OCS COURSE

The ADMA is nationally recognized ADA CERP CE Provider for its Pediatric Oral Sedation Certification course. This course is designed to achieve a Pediatric Oral Conscious Sedation Permit.  Our comprehensive course, taught by our board certified anesthesiologists, produces a safer, more confident doctor for oral sedation dentistry.  Live and simulated cases are performed.  The ADMA is the only sedation trainer that teaches New Pediatric Oral Sedation Protocols that are safe and effective.  The ADMA will make every effort to assist you in obtaining your sedation permit. It is ultimately the responsibility of the licensed dentist to know their state’s sedation regulations.

We strongly recommend that all dentists attending this course bring at least one assistant with them. Practices achieve significantly better outcomes integrating sedation into their structure when a team member is able to learn alongside their dentist. You can find assistant certification courses by clicking this link: ADMA Assistant Certification Courses.

Description

The ADMA teaches pediatric oral sedation protocols that go beyond traditional dental practices to encompass the most up-to-date methods practiced in the dental community. Our hands-on simulations involving common emergencies and airway management will assure that you are providing the safest, highest quality sedation care possible to your dental patients.

The key aspect of our Pediatric Oral Sedation Course is training to proficiency in pediatric airway management.  We train dentists to monitor a pediatric patient on a breath by breath basis.  Pediatric patients have very little respiratory reserve, and key vital signs can change abruptly.  Integrating a precordial stethoscope and capnography into the standard monitoring algorithm ensures safe patient care.  Our Pediatric Airway Algorithm must be memorized and utilized in real time in a proficient manner to pass this course.

Courses are held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm. Traditional and new pediatric oral sedation protocols are taught by field experts. Pediatric pharmacology, physiology, airway management, and patient screening are heavily emphasized in the core curriculum. In addition to interactive didactics, simulated case scenarios develop a safe, knowledgeable, and confident client. Our training manual is derived from the University of Washington School of Medicine Anesthesia training program. We have designed a unique training model that ensures a low client to instructor ratio and is comprised of interactive didactics and simulated case scenarios. Our clients receive the highest quality of pediatric sedation training offered in the industry.  Our training approach ensures the development of a safer, more knowledgeable, and more confident sedation dentist.
