COURSE OVERVIEW:
The ASA and ADA recommend that dental assistants monitoring sedated patients be trained in classroom with clinical instruction in anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, monitoring, and emergency procedures with an emphasis on airway management. Rocky Mountain Sedation offers dental assistants individualized training courses that meet and exceed these recommendations. The successful completion of our course covers the requirements for any state. Our clients receive the highest quality of sedation training offered in the industry.
Courses are typically held on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm. Traditional and new oral sedation protocols are taught by field experts. The teaching staff spend individual time with each dental assistant. Our small course sizes ensure that every attendee receives the instruction they need to become a safer and more confident team member.
COURSE CONTENT:
Pharmacology, physiology, airway management, and patient screening are heavily emphasized in the core curriculum. Throughout the course of our training program, assistants learn how to prepare and operate any monitor, interpret its readouts, and change & troubleshoot its parameters. We show assistants the most concise system of patient evaluation for situations before, during, and after sedation procedures. By working with our instructors in simulated case scenarios, dental assistants also learn how to effectively communicate with their dentist during a code, document sedation while they assist with the procedure, and perform a thorough discharge evaluation.
In addition to interactive didactics and simulated case scenarios, our Q&A lecture style develops a safe, knowledgeable, and confident dental assistant. Train with the field experts. Upon completion of the course, assistants return to the office with the practical and advanced dental sedation skills they need as an indispensable member of the dental sedation team.
